Ate here multiple times during my stay in Copper Harbor. Great atmosphere: think bar on the beach, but with an bay cabin feel. Food was good: I recommend the chili cheese fries, Baken and Manganese burgers. Also, go for the Two Hearted and Red Ridge (local brews on tap). Get the wings. They're insanely good and definitely my top pick on the menu. Onion rings are also mega crispy and tasty, drinks hit strong, but those wings. We visited twice during our trip because we couldn't get enough of those wings!!!!
We had an incredible meal here, and the whole experience was top-notch! The service was excellent—our waitress, Mya, was so friendly and helpful. I was torn between a few burger options, and she gave me the perfect recommendation. It turned out to be one of the best burgers I’ve ever had! The food came out quickly, but you could tell everything was made with care—fresh, high-quality ingredients and clearly handmade. The customizable burger process on the menu was awesome, letting me pick exactly what I wanted without any hassle. The atmosphere was fun, too, with the AMI Play jukebox allowing us to control the music. Even the bathrooms were clean and well-kept, which is always a good sign. Overall, this place nails it—great food, great service, and a cool vibe. We’ll definitely be back! Highly recommend!
I never leave reviews but this place deserves it. The food was amazing, especially the onion rings (didn’t get a pic because they were devoured so fast), we had the fish and chips and everything was PERFECT. Can’t wait to go back one day
This was such a pleasant surprise. My family and I were exploring the Keweenaw Peninsula and rolled up to Copper Harbor for part of the day. We found Lake Effect Bar and Grill. Fun, little spot that gave us huge portions and tasty homemade food. Excellent service, clean, friendly and top notch food. Best meal in Michigan for us, and we've been here a week! Worth the trip. We all had burgers with hand cut fries. The burgers were delicious and juicy and the buns were soft. You could tell the fries were fresh. Wonderful food in a little bar/restaurant.
Great burgers and fries hand cut fries. Bar for drinks, only thing I could say to improve on menu items and menu was confusing.. there fish,burgers, custom mac and cheese bowls. Nice to see steak or BBQ items.. added to menu.. I'm local and think you got gem restaurant in town.
Dog friendly! There are a few picnic tables just outside the entrance where you can sit and eat. Stopped here for dinner on the way up Brockway Mountain for some night sky photography. Shared an order of fish 'n chips with my canine companion and got a tall coffee to go. No complaints...quick service considering the busy Friday night crowd and excellent fish with just the perfect amount of malt vinegar to complement. Will revisit next time I'm in Copper Harbor for sure.
